These shapes tracing worksheets for preschoolers come as one cheerful 19-page book, Smiley Shapes. Each page shows one big shape with a smiley face, drawn in dotted or dashed lines, for your child to trace and then colour.
What's inside: five shapes in all: circles (7 pages), stars (3), squares (3, one without a face), hearts (5) and one crescent moon. The instructions are "Trace the dotted lines, then colour!" or "Trace the dashes, then colour the circle!" (or star, or square). There are no shape names printed, so you get to say them aloud. Each page has Name and Date lines, and a "Super Star Learner!" certificate comes at the end.
Age: the cover says Age 2–4. Circles are a good place to start for two-year-olds.
How to print: choose the A4 PDF (or US Letter in the US and Canada), print at 100% scale ("actual size"), and use colour or black and white. The lines print clearly either way.
Tips for parents:
- Say the shape's name as your child traces: "Round and round, a circle!"
- After a page, look for the same shape around the house. Praise the effort, not perfect lines.
Smiley Shapes is our shapes books pick. If you want a triangle too, Pencil Practice has a page with a triangle, hexagon and more. The app guide Find Real Objects fits the shape hunt idea. Get the Chunnu Ji app on Google Play.
