Pencil Practice is a pack of pre writing worksheets for toddlers: 11 activity pages full of dotted lines and simple shapes to trace. It is busier than Pencil Fun, with denser rows and longer patterns, so it works well as the next step.
What's inside: rows of wavy lines, scallops and waves, little boats above bumpy lines, zig-zags and loops, curly lines with arrows, overlapping fish-scale rows, wiggly paths that start from small bugs, chains of circles and diamonds that lead to fish, and fish followed by wave, loop and square-wave patterns. One page has six shapes to trace: a square, circle, triangle, hexagon, crescent moon and star. Every page says "Trace the dotted lines, then colour!" and has Name and Date lines. The book ends with a "Super Star Learner!" certificate.
Age: the cover says Age 2–4. Rows can be long for a two-year-old, so it is fine to trace just one row.
How to print: choose the A4 PDF (or US Letter in the US and Canada), print at 100% scale ("actual size"), and use colour or black and white. The lines print clearly either way.
Tips for parents:
- Let your child colour the boats, bugs and fish after tracing; it makes a good reward.
- Short and happy beats long and tired. Praise the effort.
