Pencil Fun is a set of pencil control worksheets in one PDF: 16 pages of line tracing for little hands. On each page there are 3 rows of dashed lines, and every line starts at a green dot and ends at a star, so your child always knows where to begin and where to stop.

What's inside: the pages are titled Standing Line, Sleeping Line, Slanting Line (2 pages), Wavy Line (2), Zig-Zag Line (2), Mountains, Bumpy Road, Loops, Rainbow, Circle, Square, Triangle and Spiral. Short, playful prompts help, such as "Slide down like a slide!" and "Wiggle down like a snake!". The Rainbow page also asks your child to colour it in. Every sheet has Name and Date lines, and there is a "Super Star Learner!" certificate at the end.

Age: Age 2–4, as printed on the cover.

How to print: choose the A4 PDF (or US Letter in the US and Canada), print at 100% scale ("actual size"), and use colour or black and white. The lines print clearly either way.

Tips for parents:

This book sits with our other tracing books. Next, try Pencil Practice for busier patterns, or My Little Hut for a picture to trace. The app guide Little Messages is a gentle extra for the same age. Get the Chunnu Ji app on Google Play.

Questions parents ask

What are pencil control worksheets?

They are pages of lines to trace from a start point to an end point, such as straight, slanting, wavy and zig-zag lines. In Pencil Fun every line runs from a green dot to a star.

Are there letters or numbers in Pencil Fun?

No. It has lines and a few simple shapes (circle, square, triangle, spiral) only.

Which page should we start with?

Standing Line and Sleeping Line are the simplest. Loops and Spiral are good to save for later.
