These Urdu Qaida (Huroof-e-Tahaji) tracing worksheets put the اردو حروف تہجی in one free PDF: 40 activity pages, one letter per page. Your child traces a big dashed letter, looks at a picture with its Urdu word, then traces the letter in rows and writes it in boxes.
What's inside: 39 letters plus آ, in the standard NCPUL / Punjab-style primary qaida order, from ا آ ب پ ت ٹ to ہ ھ ء ی ے. The letters are in Naskh script: clear, upright shapes that are easier for little hands to trace than flowing Nastaliq. Pages run right to left, like Urdu itself: the big letter sits on the right, the picture and word on the left. Picture words include ا انار, آ آم, ب بطخ, پ پتنگ, ش شیر and ہ ہاتھی. ذ, ض and ظ stand alone with a short note that few words start with them, and ء with a note that no Urdu word starts with it. ڑ ژ ں ھ ے are shown inside or at the end of a word, such as سیڑھی and ماں. Headers are in English. The book covers these 40 letters only: aspirated pairs (بھ پھ …) and aerab are not part of it. It ends with a certificate.
Age: the cover says Age 2–4.
How to print: choose the A4 PDF (or US Letter in the US and Canada), print at 100% scale ("actual size"), in colour or black and white.
Tips for parents:
- Say the letter and its word aloud together: "ب، بطخ".
- One or two letters a day is plenty. Praise the trying, not neatness.
It sits with our other alphabet books. For English letters, try A to Z Letters. App guide: Little Messages. Get the Chunnu Ji app on Google Play.
