This Hindi varnamala vyanjan tracing worksheet book has 39 pages, one for each Hindi consonant. Your child traces a big dashed letter, looks at a picture with its Hindi word, then traces and writes the letter again. It is part 2 of our Hindi varnamala; the vowels come first, in part 1, Hindi Varnamala: Swar.
What's inside: the 33 basic consonants from क to ह, then ड़ and ढ़, then the four conjuncts क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ and श्र. Each page has a big letter to trace, a picture with a word (क कबूतर, ख खरगोश, ग गाय, च चम्मच), two rows of grey letters to trace, and a row of empty boxes to write in. The instruction is "Trace the big letter, then write it!". ङ and ञ have no picture, with a short line explaining that no Hindi word starts with them. For ण, ड़ and ढ़ the word contains the letter (बाण, पेड़, सीढ़ी). The book ends with a "Super Star Learner!" certificate.
Age: the cover says Age 2–4. Younger children can trace just the big letter and leave the boxes for later.
How to print: choose the A4 PDF (or US Letter in the US and Canada), print at 100% scale ("actual size"), and use colour or black and white. The lines print clearly either way.
Tips for parents:
- Say the letter and its picture word aloud together: "क, कबूतर".
- One letter a day is plenty. Praise the trying.

Questions parents ask
Does the book include swar (Hindi vowels)?
No. This is part 2, with vyanjan (consonants) only, from क to ह plus ड़, ढ़, क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ and श्र. The swar, अ to औ plus अं and अः, are in part 1, the Hindi Varnamala: Swar book.
Are matras or barakhadi included?
No. Each page focuses on one consonant.
Can a non-Hindi-speaking parent use it?
Yes, though the picture words are in Hindi script, so it helps if someone at home can read them aloud.
