ChunnuJi is a family-voice app for families with children aged 1–4. Its starting point is familiar people and the voices a child knows. If you are considering it, begin with a small family activity and decide where a device genuinely helps.
ChunnuJi is described by its maker as offline, ad-free and privacy-focused. The website has text in 23 languages, and the separate web game has recorded audio in seven. These website and web-game counts do not establish Android app language coverage. Check the current app and purchase screen for available free and paid options.
Check the current app listing, privacy policy and purchase screen before downloading or paying. The features available in basic access, supported languages and device requirements should be clear before you choose a paid option. A one-time price does not by itself tell you the rules for using the purchase on another account or device.
This guide is for the adult choosing and managing the activity. An app aimed at families with children aged 1–4 does not mean every child in that range should use a screen.
WHO recommends no sedentary screen time for 1-year-olds, and no more than an hour for ages 2–4, with less being better. WHO guidance For the youngest children, live songs, shared books and face-to-face play are the starting point. An adult can choose family-audio activities without handing a toddler a phone.
Choose one goal that is easy to observe: sharing a familiar voice, enjoying a song together or using a sound as the start of pretend play. Avoid goals such as “fix speech delay,” “stop addiction” or “make my child smarter.” ChunnuJi is not presented here as a treatment or a developmental assessment.
Open the current app yourself. Review the available activities, check the privacy explanation and understand any permission prompt before approving it. Choose only a feature that the installed version actually provides. You do not need to explore every option during the first session.
Set up the activity before inviting your child to join. If a family member’s voice will be recorded or shared, ask their permission and explain where it will be used. Keep unnecessary personal details out of recordings.
Where the activity involves listening, check whether playback continues with the display locked. Do not assume this from the word “offline.” If the screen stays on or your child needs to tap through content, describe it honestly as a short screen-based activity. For truly screen-free play, use live voices or a confirmed screen-off audio setup.
Follow a sound with something you can do together. After an animal sound, find that animal in a paper book. After a greeting, greet each other. After a family rhyme, try a movement that suits your child.
These are suggested family activities, not a list of promised ChunnuJi modules. Let your child respond in their own way. A look, gesture, laugh or change of interest can tell you more about the moment than a repeated word.
The website offers text in 23 languages; the separate web game has recorded audio in Hindi, English, Arabic, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu. The Android app is a different product experience. Check its current listing and settings for the language your family uses. A language count alone does not establish that every interface, activity and recording feature works identically in every language.
Use the words your family naturally uses. A grandparent’s familiar phrase can be part of shared play without becoming a vocabulary test. No app can promise bilingual fluency from a particular number of sessions.
Try any available free basic access first. Ask whether the app fits the activity you wanted, whether its privacy information answers your questions and whether using it feels easy to finish.
If you choose a paid option, verify the price, whether it repeats, what it includes and the details shown at purchase. Buy because the available features fit your family, not because you feel that your child needs another learning product.
